M.I.A. - Bucky Done Gun (GenErik Kaplermix)
A gritty, dirty and noisy remix of M.I.A.’s classic Bucky Done Gun. I doubt I need to say more than that. Also check it out over at Soundcloud, where you can comment on specific parts of the track. It’s trés cool!
Passion Pit - Sleepyhead (GenErik’s Awake Remix)
Remixing Passion Pit probably is tantamount to blasphemy in many circles. Nevertheless, I have taken a crack at it. Pumping beats, keeping in the spirit of Passion Pit’s experimental sound, but with a little less pop and a lot more pump.
Enjoy.
Updated with new master 12 Jun 2009.
A second, more fun remix (last one was a bit too straightforward and boring IMO). This one features cut up guitars, thumping floor shattering bass*, and a guest spot from everyone’s favourite storytelling bogan: Clare Werbeloff!
* UPDATE 15 July 2009: New cleaner mix with less Clare (by popular demand). Also tidied up the end bit so it’s not as repetitive.
Funny. Looks like this photo of mine is doing the rounds on the Tumblr-circuit. Not that I mind at all :)
Koala Meditating (The ultimate koala photo?) (via Erik K Veland)
This is a relic. My oldest kept song. I’ve dated it to be most likely from 1996, which would make it 13 years old today. I remember I created it specifically to fit with the first video I ever edited. It was done on a Mac IIsi on a demo version of Premiere 4.2 containing found QuickTime footage from CD-ROMs and early internet.
I actually quite like it for what it is. Thumping breakbeats, screeching synths and a sampled scream. The footage was of downhill skiing mostly. Very adrenalin-filled:
Wow. I completely do not hate this song I made in 2004:
My first crack at a Snob Scrilla remix. This one just came about playing with the acapella. It’s a pretty straight forward remix, but I think it came out pretty well. Definitely grows on you.
Snob Scrilla - Heartbreak Scorsese (GenErik’s Softworld Remix) [MP3, 03:28, 4.8MB, 120BPM]

Chilled balearic summer house. Rather HedKandi-ish to be honest. Just the way Francesca likes it. And I hope you do too:
