My yearly warmup mix for Splendour in the Grass. It contains only (well, mostly) artists that perform on that year’s Australian festival Splendour in the Grass, and is thus quite a challenge to span and seamlessly mix over a multitude of genres with a limited (well, 2081) selection of tracks.
It is always fun to do, and as always with my mixes quite the OCD effort as I reiterate and reiterate the mix in Logic. You have probably guessed that this is a studio mix, and not live. I strive to make it ultra seamless and fun with plenty of mashups. It has already been tested out at a party with great success (we played it 2.5 times and everyone was singing and dancing along). I love it. It makes me psyched for Splendour. And I hope it does that to you too.

A 25 minute set of only the artists playing at Splendour In The Grass 2010. I started this to psyche myself up before going and sadly never got to finish it before I did. With the amazing experience of probably the best Australian festival of all time (yes, I called it) I’ve finally polished it up and finished it.

GenErik - They Came Down From The North
A 30 minute set consisting entirely of military grade Scandinavian electronica and synth-pop mixed and micro edited by that crazy Norwegian GenErik. This album is dedicated to Gustav “Ludvigsen” Lorentzen (1947-2010) - a humanitarian, inspiration and childhood hero to generations of Norwegians. He is represented here by the track “Måneland” from the 1997 Knutsen & Ludvigsen tribute album “Ellediller & Krokkofanter”. And he’s also given a proper viking burial on the album artwork.

Time for a cover! I’ve always been a fan of Jan Hammer’s 80s pop synth magic (Police Quest 3 Soundtrack FTW!), so here is my take on his classic Miami Vice track “Crockett’s Theme”. (You kids might also remember it from Grand Theft Auto: Vice City).
